Job Description

Are you ready to make a lasting impact and lead the development of customer and community insights to shape the future of our city? We’re on the lookout for a passionate and visionary leader to spearhead our community engagement and customer insights program, driving change and delivering meaningful results.

What You’ll Do:

  • Shape the City’s Future: Lead the strategic planning and execution of community engagement initiatives, ensuring they align with the council’s vision and priorities for a brighter future.
  • Unlock Powerful Insights: Analyse data from diverse sources, transforming information into actionable insights that enhance services and meet regulatory standards.
  • Influence Senior Leaders: Present compelling insights and recommendations to key stakeholders, guiding data-driven decisions that shape city-wide improvements.
  • Empower Your Team: Lead and inspire a talented team, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and high performance.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Use your insights to recommend innovative service enhancements, ensuring we meet and exceed the needs of our community.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive salary ranging from $121,828 to $135,657 annually, plus 11.5% superannuation.

Desired Skills and Experience

What you’ll need to thrive:

  • Relevant qualifications: A degree in engagement, research, community development, communications, or public relations is highly desirable.
  • Analytical and strategic thinking: The ability to analyse complex data and turn it into meaningful insights that drive improvements.
  • IAP2 expertise: Strong knowledge of International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) principles and practices is essential to the role.
  • Proven leadership experience: Demonstrated success in a senior management role, ideally within community engagement, communications, or a related field.
  • Exceptional communication skills: Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with the confidence to engage with stakeholders and present recommendations clearly.
  • Local government experience: While not required, experience within local government would be a valuable asset, helping you navigate the public sector landscape.
