Are you passionate about urban planning and keen to make a difference in your community? Join our dynamic team as a Fast Track Planner, where you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our city.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess VicSmart and other planning applications, ensuring alignment with Council policies, procedures, and planning schemes.
Deliver exceptional, customer-centric service to both internal and external clients.
Resolve conflicts between applicants and objectors, facilitating smooth and positive outcomes.
Provide expert advice on planning applications and policies to various stakeholders.
Ensure the efficient and accurate processing of applications within the statutory framework.
Contribute to the development of a streamlined approvals system, enhancing our city's planning processes.
Embrace a flexible work environment with our hybrid role, blending onsite and remote work. Based at our bustling 311 Glenferrie Road office in Malvern, you'll be surrounded by charming shops, delightful cafes, and the peaceful Malvern Gardens.
This is a permanent full time position of between $79,222 to $90,806, plus 11.5% superannuation and a monthly accrued day off.
Desired Skills and Experience
What you'll need to thrive:
In-depth knowledge of planning schemes, Council policies, and procedures.
Strong customer service orientation with the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
Proven ability to work efficiently within a statutory framework.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of the relevant planning provisions, specifically the VicSmart provisions including permit triggers, exemptions, timeframes, and required information, is desirable.
