Job Description

The City of Stonnington is seeking expressions of interest from people with the appropriate skills and experience for the position of Independent Member of the Council's Audit & Risk Committee.

The Audit & Risk Committee is established under the Local Government Act 2020 and operates in accordance with its charter and relevant legislation. Membership of the Committee comprises three independent members, one of whom is the chair, and two Councillors.

The Committee meetings are scheduled quarterly, and may meet more frequently for specific purposes.

You will be required to:

  • Contribute to good governance and operational stewardship for the Council
  • Provide specialist expertise and guidance
  • Demonstrate requisite skills and experience in local government, strategic asset management and business information technology
  • Strong financial and strategic risk management knowledge supported by wide general business experience will be considered favourably.

The appointment is for an initial term of up to three (3) years, with possible further terms to a maximum set out in the Charter.

An annual sitting payment of $7,468.41 will be paid to the Independent Member. The meeting will be held at Malvern Town Hall Malvern and also remotely through teams. Exact days and times are being determined.
