Are you passionate about community sport and recreation? Do you want to make a real impact on the health and wellbeing of your local community? We’re looking for a driven and community-focused individual to join our Recreation Services team at the City of Stonnington.
As a Sport and Recreation Business Support Officer, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our local sporting clubs, community groups, and residents by helping deliver inclusive, active, and sustainable sport and recreation opportunities. You’ll work alongside a passionate team to manage the use of Council’s sportsgrounds and pavilions, while also providing valuable support across projects, policies, and community programs.
In this role, you’ll:
Work closely with local sporting clubs and organisations to enhance participation in sport and recreation.
Provide administrative and operational support across a range of community sport programs and initiatives.
Assist senior officers with research, data collection, and reporting to support strategic planning and policy development.
Support the implementation and review of Council’s Sport and Recreation plans and strategies.
Coordinate the allocation and management of Council sporting grounds and facilities.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clubs, groups, and stakeholders across the community.
Be rewarded with a competitive salary of $74,784 – $79,254 per year, plus 11.5% superannuation and access to an Accrued Day Off (ADO) each month – supporting
Desired Skills and Experience
About you:
You hold a tertiary qualification in sport or recreation management, community development, or an allied health field.
You bring demonstrated experience in a recreation services environment, ideally within local government or community sport.
You’re an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills, able to build rapport and work collaboratively with diverse community groups.
You have a good understanding of how community sport and recreation organisations operate.
You’re organised, team-oriented, and skilled in planning, problem-solving and providing practical support.
