Job Description

About the Role 

The City of Stonnington is seeking a highly driven and experienced HR professional to step into role of Head of P&C Partnering. This key position is at the heart of our HR advisory and workplace relations and will lead a team of Business Partners and Advisors, as well as Talent Acquisition.  

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead a business partnering function that drives immediate value, provides expert guidance to leaders, supporting them to lift engagement, culture, accountability and performance with their people and drive alignment between P&C strategy and business outcomes. 
  • Manage the content, delivery, future development and implementation of all ER, IR, case management, people management strategy, frameworks and programs, policy, procedures and guidelines, as well as our enterprise agreement negotiations. 
  • Build a strategic Talent Acquisition function that partners with the business to identify, target and attract the best talent to Stonnington 
  • Shape the organisation model, support strategic workforce planning, change programmes and lead succession and talent programs. 
  • Champion continuous improvement, employee experience, and compliance. 

Desired Skills and Experience

What you'll bring to the role: 

  • Broad HR leadership experience, ideally in a sector with a frontline workforce.
  • Deep subject matter expertise across ER/IR, performance management, change management and workforce strategy. 
  • Strong knowledge of the industrial relations system and experience in applying relevant legislation in the areas of leading ER/IR case management, Fairwork claims, anti-harassment and anti-bullying and providing practical advice in these areas 
  • Experience working in a unionised environment, with the ability to lead and support the negotiation of Enterprise Agreements and manage and resolve complex complaints 
  • Strong research, conceptual and analytical skills combined with experience in policy/procedure development and transferring research to practical outcomes 
  • A demonstrated ability to lead teams, build strong relationships across the organisation, and influence stakeholders at all levels. 
  • Outstanding communication skills, enabling you to convey ideas clearly and effectively to diverse audiences with high quality written communication. 
  • Experience in leading and delivering impactful HR projects that lifts capability and delivers results. 
  • A relevant tertiary qualification and/or demonstrated success in a similar role.

You are based within our bright, modern and sustainable 311 Glenferrie Road office on the corner of High Street and Glenferrie Road in Malvern where boutique stores, cafes and health clubs are in abundance. From the office you can easily walk to Malvern Gardens, High Street Armadale or Glenferrie Road. Malvern and Armadale Train Station are a short walk away and tram stops are out the front of the building.
