Work as part of the Infrastructure Maintenance team to provide designated maintenance services for the community. The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of manual tasks to achieve a high standard of maintenance of roads, footpaths, stormwater drainage systems, signs and street furniture within the Municipality.
In this role you will:
Coordinate and perform the smooth action and compliance of infrastructure maintenance tasks on site
Maintain roads, footpaths, storm water drainage system, street signs and street furniture within the Municipality
Work cooperatively with team members and members of the public, escalating enquiries and problems as they emerge
Perform manual handling tasks such as lifting, digging, raking, sweeping and the use of mechanical tools
Correctly use and maintain plant and equipment provided, including personal protective equipment, in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions and Council’s workplace health and safety policies, procedures and practices
Operate vehicle and tow plant as required in a safe, competent and responsible manner in accordance with the Road Traffic Regulations and Council’s policies
This is a permanent full time position with a salary of $78,809.18 per annum + 12% superannuation. 76 hour 9 day fortnight with RDO on every second Monday.
You are based at our Tooronga Depot which is located next to Tooronga Train station and walking distance to Tooronga Village Shopping Centre. As a permanent employee you also get access to our wellbeing program and employee assistance counselling program.
Desired Skills and Experience
Requirements:
Previous experience in infrastructure maintenance, especially in the areas of roads, footpaths, paving, stormwater drainage systems, street signs and street furniture
Experience safely operating and maintaining mechanical tools, small plant and equipment and performing manual handling tasks
Communication skills and ability to work in a team
Medium Rigid Truck Licence Endorsement
The below are desirable but not required:
Construction Industry Card (White/Red) Competency
Current Spotters Ticket and Traffic Control training
Current Traffic Control Ticket
