Job Description

Work as part of the Infrastructure Maintenance team to provide designated maintenance services for the community. The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of manual tasks to achieve a high standard of maintenance of roads, footpaths, stormwater drainage systems, signs and street furniture within the Municipality.

In this role you will:

  • Coordinate and perform the smooth action and compliance of infrastructure maintenance tasks on site
  • Maintain roads, footpaths, storm water drainage system, street signs and street furniture within the Municipality
  • Work cooperatively with team members and members of the public, escalating enquiries and problems as they emerge
  • Perform manual handling tasks such as lifting, digging, raking, sweeping and the use of mechanical tools
  • Correctly use and maintain plant and equipment provided, including personal protective equipment, in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions and Council’s workplace health and safety policies, procedures and practices
  • Operate vehicle and tow plant as required in a safe, competent and responsible manner in accordance with the Road Traffic Regulations and Council’s policies

This is a permanent full time position with a salary of $78,809.18 per annum + 12% superannuation. 76 hour 9 day fortnight with RDO on every second Monday.

Desired Skills and Experience

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in infrastructure maintenance, especially in the areas of roads, footpaths, paving, stormwater drainage systems, street signs and street furniture
  • Experience safely operating and maintaining mechanical tools, small plant and equipment and performing manual handling tasks
  • Communication skills and ability to work in a team
  • Medium Rigid Truck Licence Endorsement

The below are desirable but not mandatory:

  • Construction Industry Card (White/Red) Competency
  • Current Spotters Ticket and Traffic Control training
  • Current Traffic Control Ticket
