Play a key role in leading the safe and vibrant operation of two of Stonnington’s most loved aquatic facilities.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced aquatic professional to step into a hands-on leadership role supporting the teams that keep our pools safe, welcoming and running smoothly. Working across the Harold Holt Swim Centre and Prahran Aquatic Centre, you’ll guide frontline staff, strengthen operational practices and help deliver a positive experience for the thousands of community members who visit our facilities each week
What you’ll be doing:
Leading and supporting a large frontline team of lifeguards and duty supervisors, creating a positive, collaborative environment where staff feel confident, supported and focused on delivering safe and welcoming aquatic spaces.
Overseeing the daily coordination of aquatic operations across two busy facilities, ensuring staffing levels, rosters and operational activities align with safety standards and service demand.
Championing a strong safety culture by supporting staff capability, guiding responses to incidents and maintaining high standards of water safety and supervision.
Building a strong customer-focused approach across the operations team, helping ensure visitors feel safe, supported and enjoy their time at our facilities.
Working closely with the Leisure leadership team to strengthen operational processes, support team capability and identify opportunities to improve how our aquatic services are delivered.
This full-time permanent position offers a salary of $83,480 - $95,636 plus 12% super, along with the added perks of a monthly ADO and additional employee benefits.
Desired Skills and Experience
To thrive in this role:
Experience working in aquatic or leisure operations, with a strong understanding of safety standards, lifeguard environments and the demands of busy public aquatic facilities.
Proven leadership capability with the ability to coordinate teams, support staff development and maintain strong operational oversight in a fast-paced environment.
A practical and solutions-focused mindset, enabling you to respond confidently to operational challenges while maintaining safe and consistent service delivery.
Pool Lifeguard Award, Provide First Aid, Aquatic Technical Operator Certificate, and a valid Working with Children Check.
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and experience across multiple facilities will be highly regarded.
