You’ll be behind the wheel of our community buses, supporting residents with limited mobility, age-related needs, or disability - making each journey not just safe, but friendly, respectful, and enjoyable.
In this role you’ll:
Drive Council’s community transport buses across Stonnington and beyond, from local trips to regional day outings
Create a warm, welcoming environment for passengers, ensuring everyone feels supported and comfortable
Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, including safely managing mobility aids and equipment
Keep vehicles clean, safe and ready to go, completing checks and reporting anything that needs attention
Work closely with a small, supportive team to deliver a reliable and high-quality service
What’s on offer:
Flexible casual role — ideal if you enjoy driving and being out in the local community
Monday to Friday shifts, usually starting at 8:00am and finishing between 2:00pm – 4:30pm

Hourly rate of $38.89 – $41.16, plus 25% casual loading and 12% superannuation

Desired Skills and Experience
To thrive in this role:
Experience driving buses (or similar vehicles), ideally in a community, aged care or disability setting
A current Victorian medium rigid (or higher) licence and accredited driver certificate (omnibus)
Strong communication skills and a natural ability to connect with people from all walks of life
A calm, patient and genuinely caring approach
Confidence navigating inner-city streets and a variety of driving conditions
A strong focus on safety, including supporting passengers with additional needs and operating mobility equipment
A current Working with Children Check and Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
