Stonnington Council is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Years Educator to join our Malvern team in a full‑time, temporary position with the role continuing until 29 January 2027. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of high‑quality early childhood programs while building your experience within a supportive and professional environment.
In this role, you will plan, deliver, and reflect on inclusive, play‑based learning experiences, working collaboratively with families and fellow educators to support each child’s learning, wellbeing, and development.
We deliver a range of services for children from infancy to school age, including:
Long Day Care
Occasional Care
Kindergarten Programs
About the Role
This full‑time temporary role is available until 29 January 2027 and offers a salary of $76,864 – $81,334 plus 12% superannuation and access to time in lieu. You will be part of a collaborative and motivated team that values engaging environments and meaningful learning experiences.

Desired Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will hold a recognised qualification in Early Childhood and have experience working within Early Years Services, along with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with others. You will demonstrate sound knowledge of relevant State and Federal policies, regulations, standards, and compliance requirements applicable to Early Years Services. A genuine passion for working with children and families is essential, as is an understanding of best practice relating to equity, inclusion, Indigenous perspectives, and sustainable practices within an early childhood setting. In addition, you will bring:
A current and valid Working with Children Check
Current First Aid, Anaphylaxis, and Asthma certifications
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Experience in early childhood development and program planning
