The Learning & Development Advisor is a critical role responsible for building organisational capability by designing, delivering and managing high-impact learning solutions. This role acts as a strategic partner to leaders across diverse council functions ensuring that staff have the skills required to excel in their roles and deliver services to our community.
The role combines creative instructional design and facilitation with technical system ownership and event coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and facilitate high-quality learning programs across Leadership, Professional Development and Onboarding, resulting in measurable improvements in staff capability and engagement.
Maintain accurate user data, course records and training history within the LMS.
Develop engaging eLearning modules using contemporary authoring tools, providing flexible, self paced development options for a mobile and diverse workforce. • Deliver workshops and training sessions with high energy and professional expertise, catering to various adult learning styles and technical levels.
Develop strong partnerships with leaders across multiple functions to identify performance and capability gaps to design impactful learning interventions.
Contribute to the design and implementation of an organisational development strategy that encompasses talent management, capability development, and change management.
Join us in this full-time permanent role, offering a competitive salary range of $100,066 - $108,372 plus 12% superannuation and a monthly accrued day off. This salary will increase to $102,368 - $110,865 plus 12% super and a monthly accrued day off. This is a hybrid role where you will work from home and our Malvern office based on the corner of High Street and Glenferrie Road in Malvern next to cafes, high fashion stores, health clubs and various public transport options such as Malvern and Armadale train stations.
Desired Skills and Experience
What you’ll need to succeed:
Learning Strategy Development:
Experience defining strategic direction for learning and development, focusing on leadership, education, and compliance training.
This includes:
Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS) in an administrational capacity.
Understanding of learning needs analysis
Learning design and facilitation experience
Capability Frameworks:
Experience in designing and implementing professional development and operational capability frameworks. Capability development experience, understanding of capability frameworks
Project Management Skills:
Capacity to manage project-related tasks and produce clear, concise documentation. • Stakeholder Engagement:
You also have:
An ability to work constructively with senior management, team leaders, and staff at all levels.
Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS / LMS systems. Experience in ELMO would be an advantage.
Organisational Development Experience: Experience in areas such as engagement, induction, compliance reporting, and performance management.
Facilitation Skills: Proven training and facilitation skills with a focus on engaging learners.
