Job Description

As our Research & Engagement Advisor, you will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation and community to design and deliver engagement initiatives, gather insights, and ensure community voices are translated through our projects, strategies, and services.

You will be responsible for developing tailored engagement approaches, managing the Connect Stonnington digital engagement platform, and designing surveys and consultation activities that capture valuable feedback from the community.

You’ll join a supportive, collaborative team that values fresh ideas, shared learning and work that makes a genuine difference for the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working in collaboration with key stakeholders, develop tailored engagement plans to produce effective insights that can be used to inform service delivery and decision making.
  • Manage the Connect Stonnington digital citizen engagement portal.
  • Support the development of insights through the creation and analysis of surveys.
  • Develop methods for collecting community engagement data and insights, based on a continuous improvement culture.
  • Provide high-quality engagement analysis and consultation reports, understanding and interpreting data.
  • Work collaboratively across the CX & Engagement department to align work and achieve shared objectives
  • Work closely with the Communications team to create supporting communications strategies for engagement programs.
  • Contribute to the growth of organisational knowledge of community engagement and insights.
  • Develop strong working relationships with staff across the organisation to strengthen community engagement capacity and capability.
  • Develop and cultivate a strong understanding of the organisation’s workings and purpose to enable seamless engagement and insights integration

Join us in this full-time permanent role, offering a competitive salary range of $102,368.16 - $110,865.56 plus 12% superannuation and a monthly accrued day off.

Desired Skills and Experience

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • A tertiary qualification in social science, research, communications or related fields, or lesser formal qualifications with extensive experience.
  • Ability to provide accurate advice based on analysis of data and insights.
  • Knowledge of contemporary community engagement principles, processes and practices and the IAP2 framework
  • Proven community engagement and/or multi-disciplinary research, analytical and report writing skills.
  • Experience in using relevant survey and insights technology such as Qualtrics or equivalent, online engagement portals, and MS Office 365.
  • Ability to build mutual trust and work effectively with all levels of the organisation to drive successful outcomes for community engagement and insights practice across the organisation.
